"An ember is all we need"

Welcome to Ember Therapeutic Counselling. My name is Ranjith Devakumar and I am a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor based in East London. Depending on your needs, I can offer online and telephone counselling services.

There are moments when a fire can go out and all that is left behind will be ashes but if a person can find an ember amongst the ashes, then there is an opportunity to rekindle the fire. In this metaphor, the ember can represent 'hope' but it can also represent what resonates with you. It can be a challenging time in our lives when the 'fire' within us fades, so my role as a counsellor would be to work with you to find your 'ember' to 'rekindle the fire'.

By putting you and your experiences at the centre of the therapeutic process, I hope we can work together in a safe and confidential space to meet your needs through counselling.

How can I support?

I bring a deeply empathetic approach tailored to your individual journey. Through genuine acceptance and empathy, I aim to foster an environment where you can explore the depths of your emotions, thoughts, and aspirations. Together, we'll navigate challenges, unveil insights, and foster growth. You're not alone in this; I'm here to work with you to achieve your goals for therapeutic counselling and holistic wellbeing.

Our sessions are a safe space where your story is heard, honoured, and embraced. As an integrative counsellor, I respect your autonomy and honour your unique path. We co-create a therapeutic alliance that empowers you to make decisions aligned with your values and desires. Whether you seek clarity, healing, or fulfilment, our sessions are dedicated to nurturing your holistic well-being.

We will have the opportunity to delve into the root causes through our work together, and you'll discover not just solutions but a deeper understanding of yourself—building resilience, empowering growth, and embracing your authenticity.

Remote Counselling

At the moment, I work remotely with my clients and can offer you online counselling (via video call) or telephone counselling. Online counselling can provide flexibility to work around your schedule and lifestyle whether it's through a video or audio call. Accessibility to online counselling can play a crucial role, it gives you the opportunity to dedicate time to yourself in the comfort of your own space and to share how you're feeling without requiring an in-person session. If you decide that online counselling would suit you better, these sessions are carried out using Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Doxy

Walk and Talk Therapy

As we walk side by side, nature becomes an integral part of our therapeutic process, encouraging an open and dynamic space for exploration. Walk and talk therapy goes beyond the confines of four walls, inviting clients to engage in a holistic experience that promotes emotional well-being, harnesses the power of physical activity and natural surroundings to create a transformative path toward personal growth.

The natural surroundings often play a role in the session, where we will use and discuss elements from nature as metaphors or prompts for deeper discussions. Clients may find that the outdoor environment facilitates a more dynamic and creative exploration of their thoughts and feelings.

Before deciding, consider your personal preferences and comfort with outdoor settings. It's a choice that embraces movement, nature, and a relaxed setting to enhance the depth and effectiveness of your therapeutic journey.

If you value the potential benefits of nature in therapy, please contact me for a free 20 minutes introductory call.
